Importing Sample Data

Updated 3 October

Importing sample data into a fresh theme just installed can save lots of time creating your website. Pre-built pages, posts, and images can give a significant head start and also demonstrate how to create posts and pages using all the theme’s features.

If you wish to import Anorya Preview website sample data you can download them here:

anorya_sample_data-1.0.6.zip

You will also need the WordPress Importer and Customizer Export/ Import plugins if you wish to also import theme settings. Both of these plugins are included in Anorya’s recommended plugins prompt after theme installation.

Check this if you need to know more about installing recommended plugins:  Install Recommended Plugins

Importing Customizer Settings

Then you need to select and upload the widgets import file and click on Import Widgets button.

Importing Sample Data

Navigate to Tools> Import.

Click Run Importer link, under WordPress

You will be asked to map the authors in this export file to users on the blog. For each author, you may choose to map to an existing user on the blog or to create a new user.

WordPress will then import each of the posts, comments, and categories contained in the uploaded file into your blog.
In addition, you can import attachment by checking the “Download and import file attachments” option.
